Minnie lost her life due to heatstroke while living with her new owner, much before her time
and in the prime of her life.  I think of her and miss her every day.  Minnie produced two
lovely litters, one by Am. Ch. Neu's Invincible Fire Lord - 3 girls and 2 boys, and the other by
Am. Ch. Rowell's Revenge of the Jedi, 2 girls and one boy.

Minnie's champion get are:  Ch. Rutanda's Spitfire Poppy, Ch. Rutanda's Evening Sunfire and
BIS Ch. Perlin's Hollywood Star.

Her legacy is in the beautiful temperament, her gung ho attitude, and conformation that she
has passed to her offspring and grand offspring.  She lives forever in my heart.
On March 22, 2007 I lost my wonderful little ray of sunshine, Zola, when a man drove over her in our yard.

My heart is broken into millions of pieces.  I don't know how I'm going to get over this or try to justify this
needless waste of such a wonderful little spirit.  I loved her with all my heart and she loved me.

She will be sorely missed by anyone who knew her.  My only consolation is that she is waiting for me over the
Rainbow Bridge, maybe she and Pearl have found each other.

She was patient and kind, protective to a fault, sweet with the babies, especially baby Winnabelle who she
helped raise by offering herself as a chew toy and buffer.

Her true calling was as a farm dog.  Zola loved the pot bellied pigs and used to drink and eat with them from
their dish, couldn't hardly wait for me to open the pen so she could go and visit with Susie and the others.  She
was afraid of nothing.  She would stroll with the horses, llamas, donkeys and cows, never realizing that she was
so much smaller than they were.  Confidence was an aura around her.  Luckily, they all tolerated her well and
never moved their feet when she was underfoot.

Zola had three litters.  She was bred to Am. Ch. Porter's Snapshot and from that breeding we got Ch. Perlin's
Fanciful Snapshot.  Fanci has produced the most beautiful puppies for us, including Ch. Perlin's Quest for Gold
who now lives in India and is doing some nice winning there.

Her next litter was by Ch. Perlin's Pogo Bounce and that breeding produced two boys.  One of those boys lives
with my friend Nancy.  Jesse James is so like his mother, we marvel about it all the time.  He has her 'gung ho'
attitude and fearlessness, also her protective nature.

Lastly, she was bred to Am. Can. Ch. Windwalker's Biscotti D'Oro (Berry).  It was a true love match, they
were so totally tuned in to each other always.  They used to go exploring together if I gave them the chance!
Zola especially loved the wild mushrooms that she and Berry used to find in the horse pasture.  (That's how I
found out they were edible!)  Their breeding produced Ch. Perlin's Nutmeg N Brown Sugar and Ch. Perlin's
Neva Rose Rutanda.  Neva just recently came back from Louisville where she was successful in winning her
class two of the four days and second the other two.

Zola has left me a legacy but it will be impossible to fill her shoes.  Not to have her following me everywhere,
laying in her bed by my computer, happy to have a bone, sleep in my bed or beside it when she got too hot,
accompany me everywhere in the truck is a loss I just can't contemplate.  I celebrate the life of my darling
Zola and deeply mourn her loss.  ~Linda

Berry
On January 11th, I lost my beautiful and handsome boy, Berry.  He brought the sun with
him when he came, and now there is a huge hole where he was and is no more.  The
dreaded cancer that ravaged his body took him from me much too soon.

Berry came to me as a four year old through the generosity of Sandra Morgan
(Windwalker) and Julie Mayer.  The minute I saw him I knew he had to come home with
me, there was just that special something about the way he looked at me there in
Sandra's back yard.  Those big luminous black eyes and soulful expression won me over
instantly.

Even though he had been basically 'retired' I decided to show him here in Canada at the
Pug National in Winnipeg.  I only had three weeks to get him ready, but he took the
show by storm and gained his Canadian Championship at that show.  We were just
delighted.

Berry went on to sire many puppies who became champions in their own right.  Many in
our house and many more across the country.  He had even recently gone back 'home'
for a visit and to make another deposit in the canine semen bank in Oregon State!

Berry had that total acceptance of all things that is so special in Pugs.  He was a
gentleman in every way, never made a nuisance of himself or objected to anything except
having his toenails cut!  That is something he hated as a tiny puppy according to Sandra,
and he never became accustomed to, or accepted it, gracefully.

His legacy lives on in the champions he left us, here and in the champions to come in the
future, through the gift of his frozen semen.

I miss my boy so much, I can never emphasize how special he was to me.  I know he will
be waiting for me over the Rainbow Bridge.  In the meantime, I enjoy daily, the gift of
his daughters still living with me, Neva and Meggie.

God speed, my boy, until we meet again......

Captain
Am. Can. Champion Loralar's Captain Hook

May 23, 2003 - July 22, 2009

My handsome boy, Captain, left us today.  He was so beautiful and such a
great character.  He has left a huge hole in my heart.  He was, without any
doubt, the most handsome boy I have had the pleasure to own.  Thank you
Laura Libner for breeding such a grand gentleman.

Captain left us so suddenly, we feel that
he must have had a heart attack for
he didn't suffer at all.  He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute
he had and he loved to show.  I had such plans for him next year as a veteran,
but I guess he had other ideas....You left me way too soon, my boy!

His children are his legacy and I value them highly.  He put his 'stamp' on all
of them.

I'm going to miss you my boy, the pain of losing you is almost more than I can
stand.  I'll be seeing you over the rainbow bridge someday, I'll look for you.
Till then....
